Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma is built on a dramatic bend of the Zambezi River in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, twelve kilometres upstream from the world-famous Victoria Falls.

Just a short drive away from the world famous Victoria Falls, the lodge offers guests a walking tour of The Falls. First described to Europe by explorer David Livingstone as "the Smoke that Thunders", the falls make a constant roar and are accompanied by a cloud of brilliant spray where the mile wide Upper Zambezi falls 300 feet into the Lower Zambezi.

Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma comprises 12 heavenly tree houses connected by wooden walkways, perched in giant ebony trees overlooking a particularly racy bend in the Zambezi River. Twelve luxury tree houses are built into the canopy of majestic ebony trees lining the river bank. The air-conditioned rooms all with their own private viewing deck boast superb views over the white waters of the Zambezi. Sussi & Chuma also has two private houses, each with two bedrooms, their own dining areas and decks with plunge pools, as well as a private chef and dedicated staff.

Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma is set on the edge of Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. The park has elephant, impala, giraffe, buffalo, hippo, crocodile, zebra in large numbers and an exciting array of birds. Guests also have the opportunity to enjoy a two hour canoeing excursion on the Zambezi River. A Zambezi River cruise is a great way to spend a few hours before drifting back to the lodge, a warm shower and delicious dinner

Sussi and Chuma is located in one of the most beautiful parts of the Zambezi amidst Jackalberry trees and Phoenix palms, providing unrivalled views and exclusivity.

Client Testimonials

"Thank you for a superb job of planning and organizing as everything went smoothly. The country of South Africa so captivated me that my husband and I are already planning a return trip next summer. The only thing to rival the bush and animals was the food. The experience of South Africa is like no other and its effect is difficult to express. I can only encourage others to make the venture."
